Rider Profile: Keiran Moses

Rider: Keiran Moses
Lives: Picton, NSW
Reining since: 2000
Favourite horse: Gambel Lena (Dodger)
Prior to becoming a reiner, Keiran enjoyed trail riding at Darkes Forrest. It was here that she was introduced to reining by Julie Reed who was reining her gelding “Buster” at the time. After watching Julie at a few shows and trying a reiner for herself, she was hooked and started having lessons with Rob Lawson.
Keiran's first reiner was a paint filly called Shoot I’m Cute. Her initial venture into the competitive world of reining was in 2000 in the Non-Pro Futurities with this filly in which she managed a 5th place at the NRHA.
Keiran then purchased “Dodger”, a gelding by Gambel Oak, broke him in and with Graham Coopers, help went on to win the 2004 VRHA Non-Pro Futurity.
Coming up for Keiran is a Starlights Cowsmart futurity horse this year & another Cowsmart in 2 yrs time. What does Keiran enjoy most about reining? The people, the show atmosphere and the excitement of watching fellow reiners compete. What does the future hold? Keiran is looking forward to the challenge of bringing her young horses through for the next phase of reiners.
